Visit the Noyes Museum Shop in Hammonton from 6-9pm on Third Thursday, May 16 to see "retro" paintings by Stephen Garraty and repurposed metal sculptures by Bill Clark. Erupting with bold color and images from society's past, Garraty recycles images from the 70s and reinvestigates them in his paintings. Bill Clark's metal sculptures will be on view outside the Noyes Museum Shop. An auto-mechanic by trade, Clark's clever sculptures are created from scrap machine parts he selectively chose and strategically welded together. Both artists will be available for discussion this evening.
Also, visit Hammonton in your coolest retro threads and have your photo taken amongst authentic antiques at the RETRO PHOTO BOOTH on the corner of Bellevue and South Second Street. Antiques donated by the Antique Marketplace of Hammonton. Photos posted on Dropbox.

Brian Meunier, a Philadelphia-based sculptor and Professor of Studio Art at Swarthmore College, will present a PowerPoint lecture on his work. Meunier is well known in the Philadelphia area not only for his sculpture, but also for his informative and amusing lectures on his work and other topics in art. His earlier academic interests in biology and archeology, and his experience in travelling the world over inform his sculptures. Meunier's work is on view in Wild Worlds: Lori Field, Brian Meunier, Sally McInerney from May 31 - September 2, 2013. This exhibition is a journey of imagination in which these three unique artists juxtapose recognizable subjects in unexpected combinations. Tinkering with nature, created beings both humanistic and whimsical evoke mysterious worlds of the artists' own creation.

Create your own "Polaroid" image and emulsion transfers with one of your photographs! (Polaroid film is now made by Fuji.) Holly Horner, a professional photographer, will demonstrate this fine art technique. You will need a 35mm transparency (a film negative) to complete this process. If you only have a digital image, you can use the internet to locate a lab that will take your digital file and have a 35mm transparency made. We will be transferring to watercolor paper, although you may bring another medium of your choice if you like: a rock, piece of glass, tile or sheet of metal, etc. If you choose to bring your own medium to transfer to, it need not be more than approximately 5x7 in size. The transfers can be further enhanced with watercolors or pencils. Each piece is an original work of art.
