A Noyes-of-the Month
In
celebration of the Museum’s 25th anniversary
we are beginning a new program to highlight our founding
artist Fred W. Noyes. Each month, a different Fred Noyes
painting will be exhibited in the central gallery, along
with educational information about or relating to the
work. You can sponsor this exhibition with a donation
which will go directly towards the care and preservation
of the permanent collection. Sponsorships start at $100
and include year-long recognition displayed with the
exhibition, monthly recognition on our website and in
our newsletter. If you have a particular interest in
helping preserve the Museum’s permanent collection and
would like your donation to help fund a specific
collections project we will be happy to accommodate your
request. All those interested can contact Amy Martina at
609-652-8848 ext. 14.

DONATES $7,500 TO NOYES MUSEUM

PNC Bank Branch
Manager (Linwood) Gary Login and Business Banker Barbara J. Bradley
presented a $7,500 check to The Noyes Museum of Art on Thursday
March 15. The check represents the largest single PNC Bank donation
to any organization and will support the Museum’s new initiative
“Grow Up Great with the Arts,” a program modeled after the Bank’s
“Grow Up Great” program. The new program will offer free arts
education scholarships to regional pre-school children. Individuals
interested in learning more about the program should call
609-652-8848.
Noyes
in Brief
Opened in 1983, The Noyes Museum of Art was the vision of
local entrepreneurs Fred W. and Ethel (Lingelbach) Noyes, Jr.
who were avid art and antique collectors. Fred was also
an academically trained artist and produced many works which
reflect his love of southern New Jersey's natural features. His art
and personal collection of vintage bird decoys are now a
part of the Museum’s vast permanent collection of 19th
to 21st century fine and folk art.
The Museum boasts a serene lakeside setting adjacent to the
Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge and is located
minutes from downtown
Atlantic City and dining and shopping
at Historic Smithville Village.
General funding is provided by the
New Jersey State Council
on the Arts/Department of State, a state partner of the
National Endowment for the Arts; the Mr. and Mrs. Fred
Winslow Noyes Foundation; the
Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation;
the Odessa F. and Henry D. Kahrs Charitable Trust and the
ShopRite LPGA Classic. Supported in part through a grant
from the New Jersey Commerce, Economic Growth & Tourism
Commission. Visitnj.org
